What You'll Do
You will mainly lead and coordinate the full bid lifecycle for Grid Automation tenders across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics — managing complex, high-value proposals from strategy to submission and handover and support for service tenders includes maintenance agreement whereas required .
Lead major bids end-to-end: Own the commercial and technical proposal process for large and complex tenders, including turnkey and Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) deals, ensuring all outputs are compliant, competitive, and delivered on time.
Build winning bid strategies: Review RFQ documents, work with the sales team to define a clear strategy that maximizes customer satisfaction and probability of success.
Drive cost competitiveness: Build and validate cost estimates, coordinate with sourcing team to define sourcing strategies, and challenge costs rigorously to protect margin without compromising quality.
Manage risk and compliance: Maintain the Risk and Opportunity register, secure required tender approvals at all gates, and ensure all proposals strictly align with GE Vernova's financial and commercial policies.
Lead and coordinate stakeholders: Act as the central point of coordination across Sales, Applications, Operations, and Supply Chain teams — including other GE Vernova Grid Solutions businesses — to deliver cohesive, high-quality proposals.
Support contract handover: Manage the order booking process and lead structured transfer meetings to hand off signed contracts to the Operations team with full documentation and context.
Champion safety and quality: Uphold GE Vernova's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and quality standards within your area, report concerns promptly and contribute to win/loss analysis to continually improve the business's tendering capability.
What You'll Bring
You are a commercially sharp, technically grounded professional who has navigated the full complexity of large-scale electrical tendering — and who leads teams and stakeholders with as much confidence as you bring to the numbers.
Required Qualification/Skills:
Bachelor's/master’s degree in electrical or Electronic Engineering — or equivalent. Any commercial course or degree (e.g. contract management) be advantageous.
15+ years of experience in the electrical industry, including at least 4-5 years in sales or tendering roles.
Strong knowledge of electrical substation environments, substation automation products, and integrated systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder bids including EPC and turnkey contracts
Strong commercial acumen — including cost estimation, risk analysis, and margin management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder influencing skills across internal and external audiences
Willingness to travel internationally to the UK, Ireland, and Nordic countries as required
Adequate knowledge of term and conditions (e.g. NEC3/4, FIDIC or equivalent ) , experience in T&C negotiation with customer is advantageous.
