About the Role

This role is crucial for managing innovation initiatives in collaboration with the China Business Unit (BU) and leading projects within the Innovation Lab. The Senior Manager will:
• Oversee and coordinate innovation initiatives with AIA China: Ensure alignment with strategic goals and timely execution of initiatives in partnership with China BU
• Develop detailed project plans for and manage innovation lab initiatives: Create schedules and status reports to monitor innovation lab project performance. Serve as a project manager for all innovation lab initiatives
• Report to senior executives: Provide comprehensive progress reports, highlight key achievements, challenges, and next steps
• Raise early warnings and escalate issues: Ensure timely resolution of potential problems to keep projects on track.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Program Management:

  • Oversee and coordinate innovation initiatives with AIA China, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timely execution

  • Develop detailed project plans for innovation lab initiatives, including schedules and status reports to monitor project performance

  • Serve as a project manager for all innovation lab initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope

  • Implement best practices in program management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations

Reporting and Communication:

  • Regularly report overall project progress to senior executives at Group Office and China

  • Prepare and present comprehensive progress reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and next steps

  • Raise early warnings and escalate issues when appropriate to ensure timely resolution

  • Utilize various communication channels (e.g., email, meetings, reports) to keep stakeholders informed

  • Develop and maintain a communication plan to ensure consistent and transparent updates

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Actively engage with all relevant stakeholders, including project managers, innovation leads, and senior executives

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams to drive project success

  • Organize and lead stakeholder meetings to gather feedback and ensure alignment

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster a collaborative environment

Program Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity

  • Monitor project risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed

  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify new risks and update mitigation plans

  • Develop a risk management framework to systematically address and mitigate risks

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field

  • Proven experience in program management, particularly in technology or innovation projects

  • Strong understanding of the Chinese business and technology landscape

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives

  • Fluency in written and spoken Chinese and English essential

  • 8+ years of experience in program management or related roles.
