The Senior Director of Employee Engagement & Experience Enablement will lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives that elevate employee experience and leader experiences, build organizational culture, enhance employee engagement, drive organizational change, and ensure alignment between leadership and employees. With a focus on serving both the enterprise and Human Resources (HR) organization globally, this leader is responsible for delivering internal engagement and communication strategies that foster transparency, trust, engagement, and collaboration within the organization. This role reports to the VP, Employee Communication & Engagement. This is a REMOTE role teleworking from home, requiring occasional travel to work on-site at Amentum’s U.S. headquarters in Virginia. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communication Leadership:
- Partner with Chief People Officer (CPO) and HR Leadership Team (HRLT) to translate complex initiatives into clear, relatable, and actionable messages for employees and leaders.
- Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and culture for: -- Global HR function to build engagement and alignment across teams driving Business and Functional group benefits, learning, and operations. Enterprise-wide multi-year HR transformation change program (e.g., HR transformation, new systems
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including strategic change management, Marketing & Communications, IT, and Business Group communicators to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Provide communications coaching and message development for senior HR leaders and executives.
Employee Engagement & Experience Leadership:
- Lead the design and execution of enterprise-wide employee engagement and experience program strategies and communications frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational culture and values.
- Lead the delivery of engagement opportunities and experiences tailored to employee segments around moments that matter, deeply embedding our identity and culture with employees.
- Partner to develop targeted and compelling communication tools for Frontline Managers/Program Managers that enhance employee experience.
- Lead cross-functional development of Amentum’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and activation across all touchpoint
- Partner with HR and Marketing & Communications to strengthen culture, purpose, and employee value proposition through storytelling campaigns and embedding throughout key lifecycle moments.
- Foster community through program leadership of Amentum’s employee connection networks.
- Own the enterprise listening strategy to ensure employee voices shape decisions and experiences through survey design and execution, focus groups, and insight generation to inform action planning and response.
- Lead development of creative engagement campaigns and initiatives that promote two-way dialogue with employees, amplify listening insights, cultivate learning program participation, and enhance community connections in/outside of Amentum.
Internal Messaging & Content Development:
- Lead creation and delivery of internal content, including newsletters, intranet articles, videos, town hall presentations, and other materials to support the global HR team.
- Create change communication frameworks and tools that support awareness, adoption, and advocacy across all levels of the global HR team and broader enterprise.
- Manage content distribution channels (intranet articles and sites, email, live and virtual events, video, etc.) for global HR team to ensure effective reach and engagement.
- Ensure all internal communication materials are consistent with the company’s brand voice and values.
Align Internal and External Communications:
- During major organization changes, M&A, and/or crisis situations support and manage internal communications and align with external messaging, ensuring timely and accurate communication to employees.
- In collaboration with the CPO, HRLT, Marketing & Communications, and Investor Relations, proactively manage potential issues that may impact employee morale and organizational reputation.
Leadership Alignment and Collaboration:
- Partner across Employee Communication & Engagement team to ensure consistent and unified messaging to employees, fostering a cohesive organizational culture.
Measurement & Reporting:
- Support key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of employee communication and engagement efforts.
- Use data and feedback to refine and continuously improve communication and engagement strategies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
- Typically 15 years of experience in corporate communications or a related field with at least 3 years in a leadership role, working with executives and working as part of a Marketing and Communications leadership team or directly advising as part of an external consulting role.
- Proven experience developing and executing successful “change communication programs” at the enterprise level within large, complex organizations.
- Must be a US Citizen to apply.
- REMOTE ROLE with the ability to travel periodically <10% to Chantilly, VA area to work on-site.
Compensation Details:
180- 220k
