Job Purpose
The RIA Support Specialist is a critical role that facilitates new business in Jackson's RIA channel. A licensed, registered representative is responsible for executing Jackson annuity contracts for potential contract holders referred to the desk by partner IARs. The Specialist will deepen the financial professional's and retail customer's relationship with Jackson by providing excellent support services. The RIA Support Specialist is also responsible for services provided to Jackson associates through the Employee Purchase Program.
Essential Responsibilities
- Analyzes potential contract holder’s needs and financial situations to determine Best Interest product recommendation and execute appropriate paperwork and documentation associated with the recommendation.
- Collaborates with RIA Consultants (wholesalers), referring IARs, and Operations to ensure completeness and accuracy or referral business and Jackson application materials.
- Acts as an important part of the advisor’s and client’s experience with Jackson when conducting fee-based business through the RIA channel.
- Makes best interest recommendations to retail investors who are referred to the RIA Support Desk by registered investment advisors and trust companies.
- Clearly, professionally, and regularly communicates with financial professionals, retail customers, and RIA Consultants when making product recommendations.
- Maintains adherence to policies and procedures, including regulatory compliance and industry enforcement.
- Provides process documentation and promotes process improvement.
- Maintains and monitors pipeline opportunities within the Salesforce platform.
- Provides expertise and acts as a valuable resource to other Jackson departments.
- Acts as point of contact for Jackson employees to purchase annuity contracts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of the insurance industry, particularly annuity products.
- Ability to analyze and compare annuity products.
- Ability to evaluate a client's risk tolerance and make appropriate product recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, explain and communicate complex financial matters by phone with financial professionals and customers.
- Ability to work as a self-starter within the framework of a team environment.
- Knowledge of financial industry and ability to discuss economic conditions.
- Knowledge of basic financial planning concepts, especially as it relates to income planning in retirement and taxation of investments.
- Knowledge of basic investment management concepts, especially as related to risk management
- Proven ability to pay attention to detail and multi-task.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required.
2+ years of experience in client-facing roles in the financial services industry required.
2+ years of experience recommending financial products to retail customers preferred.
Experience using electronic annuity order entry systems preferred.
FINRA Series 6 and 63 required.
TN Life Insurance Producer License preferred.
Ability to obtain insurance licenses in any state where business is conducted required.
