JR65576 Government and Public Policy Intern

As a Government Affairs Intern, you will be responsible for providing support to Micron’s Taiwan Government & Public Affairs leader, working on initiatives important to advancing Micron’s position as a world technology leader. You will conduct daily monitoring of political and policy developments, project based execution, intelligence gathering, and analysis as issues emerge and evolve. This analysis will give to how the company understands, navigates, and crafts the policy & legislative systems in Taiwan. As a member of the team, you will provide vital support for the Team and site leadership’s external engagement with the legislative community, executive branch, and third party groups and partners. You will work closely with colleagues across functions and the company as required. You will ideally have knowledge about the areas of politics, technology, industrial policy and manufacturing, trade, foreign relations, and issues facing global companies.

This position will report to the Director of Government & Public Affairs, Taiwan and will be based in Taiwan.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Support the Taiwan Director for Government & Public Affairs on projects, events, and research to advance the team’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop an understanding of Micron’s current and future potential issues and assess key legislative, policy and regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct research and policy analyses of legislation and assist in developing Micron’s official responses to government and trade association groups.
  • Assist the Team with preparation of briefing and presentation materials for executive level meetings with government partners.
  • Willingness to travel to Micron sites in Taiwan as required.


Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree or equivalent experience in business, political science, economics, or related field.
  • Core understanding of national politics and government processes.
  • Teamwork and organization skills to efficiently lead projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with working level in government, internal, and industry associations.
  • Self-starting individual with ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively with other team members.
     

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with policies related to the semiconductor and Information and Communications Technology.
  • Experience in interacting with international communities.
  • Demonstrated ability/experience in conducting research projects.

Internship period:

  • 2025/1/6 ~ 2025/6/30, 20 hours per week
