Reporting to the Director of Engineering you will provide technical leadership to identify and develop strategies and projects that deliver the highest value business benefit to the company. You will work with cross functional team to review requirements to develop optimized technical solutions that fit our needs. This position is a Corporate Engineering Role.
Requirements:
- Identify, develop, rollout, and provide governance for key strategies / programs across the manufacturing platform
- Use subject matter expertise in assigned areas, 3rd party engineering, and OEMs to develop labor reducing / cost-saving automation projects.
- Keep current with latest industry regulations, codes related to packaging equipment system design and operations. Use information to make recommendations to ConAgra programs, policies, or goals.
- Provide technical and economic feasibility analysis to other groups within CAG that are focused on improvements to the current state that deliver competitive advantages against CAG's peer set
- Develop Front-End-Loading packages (FEL's) that are complete, clear, concise, and that reflect due diligence to ensure project success. FEL packages include:
- Technology assessment and recommended solutions reflecting plant, ConAgra, and industry best practices
- Physical location and general arrangement placements (drawing level)
- Infrastructure requirements and needs assessment
- Support equipment acceptance criteria documentation and the actual testing/acceptance trials
- Work with the engineering team to establish the cost, schedule, risks, and startup requirements for projects
- Equipment / System Performance criteria
- Identifying Alternatives, Pre-requisites, Risks, and Opportunities
- Write detailed functional control descriptions for the unit operations and processing systems
- Perform reviews of FEL packages or equivalent for accuracy, completeness and operational effectiveness
- Develop rough order of magnitude estimates to give the business a directional early view of a project and the robustness of the business case
- Trouble shooting and continuous improvement of existing packaging operations
- Lead machine design improvements and modifications to equipment
- Keep current with latest technology and commercial applications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or Packaging Engineering
- 10+ years in food manufacturing with packaging system design
- Experience leading teams and technical analysis and problem-solving skills
- Subject matter expertise in one or more areas of food production line packaging equipment.
- Machine design and experience working in a USDA / FDA Food manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated capability in developing and implementing automation/robotic solutions
- Experience in Project Engineering and project execution.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement applications in engineering design.
- Experience transcribing project requirements into a technical solution through sound application of engineering principles.
- Experience with Packaging Equipment Engineering emphasis is required in addition to practical experience
- Travel required 50%

Compensation:
Annual Base Salary: $100,000.00 - $147,000.00
The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
