Responsible for the evaluation, procurement, installation, and manufacturing support of automated manufacturing equipment.  Prepares maintenance procedures and policies, establishes support infrastructure, identifies and tracks equipment deficiencies and designs/ implements improvements.  Interfaces with process engineering and maintenance to develop and support new processes and applications.  Estimates manufacturing cost and time standards and makes recommendations for improvements.  Supports evaluation of new technologies and equipment for improvement of current techniques or implementation of new process techniques.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop a basic understanding of the scientific theory of the product. Attend product training classes.
  • Develop understanding of product hazards and safe working practices.
  • Maintain equipment including Source, Beamline, and wafer handling areas with an understanding of product hazards and safe working practices.
  • Setup, adjustment and calibration of system wafer handling and robotics
  • Troubleshooting of systems, including electrical and mechanical disciplines, recruiting expert resources as needed.
  • Operate Demo tools for customer demonstrations and in-house product characterization.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement test plans and value-added solutions.  Function as the equipment contact engineer with knowledge of tool configuration status.
  • Maintain awareness of tool configuration and Implement test plans and value-added solutions.
  • Continue developing a greater understanding of the scientific theory of the product.

Required Skills:

* Ability to perform the physical labor required during maintenance and repair of the equipment and to do so while wearing the appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).

* Proficient in MS Office products

* Travel:  Up to 15%.

Required Experience:

* B.S. in Engineering, Physics or related discipline
