Aetna is recruiting for an Executive Director, Sales & Account Management for Aetna's Medicare Senior Supplemental Insurance (SSI) who is responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational management of the sales team. This pivotal role drives growth across Medicare Supplement and Ancillary products through National Marketing Organizations (NMOs), strategic reinsurance partners, and direct-to-consumer. The Executive Director will foster relationships with key stakeholders, develop go-to-market strategies, and utilize market insights to strengthen our competitive position, ultimately enhancing the well-being of our members and communities. You'll make an impact by:
Leadership & Strategy: Overseeing all aspects of the SSI sales team, ensuring alignment with company goals and the effective execution of sales strategies for both Med Supp and Ancillary products. Developing and deploying a direct-to-consumer sales strategy. Working across the sales team to develop needs-based portfolio selling approach.
Relationship Management: Serving as the primary contact for top-level NMOs and reinsurance partners; maintaining and nurturing ongoing relationships to foster collaboration and improve sales performance.
Negotiation & Contract Management: Leading negotiations for contractual arrangements with NMOs and strategic partners while monitoring and managing performance metrics.
Training & Development: Overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs for internal teams and partners on product offerings, sales techniques, and market positioning.
Performance Monitoring: Establishing KPIs and performance benchmarks to assess sales effectiveness; reacting proactively to changes in the marketplace and adjust strategies accordingly.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and compliance, to ensure cohesive strategies and successful product launches.
Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.
Required Qualifications
The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:
10+ years of experience in sales and account management, with a focus on Medicare Supplemental products.
Proven track record of success in selling and managing Medicare Supplement and complementary insurance products.
Strong understanding of the Medicare landscape, regulations, and the competitive environment.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Experience leading and developing people, preferably leading managers. Proven team leadership experience - leadership skills to build high-performing teams, manage and develop talent, influence, and impact a broad set of stakeholders, engage, and inspire others, and lead by example. Ability to lead teams and drive performance in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Ability to effectively interact with a diverse workforce and cross functional groups. Experience working in a matrixed environment.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$120,800.00 - $265,914.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
