Role Summary

As an HR Advisor (Senior Associate) within People Services & Solutions (PSS), you will own and deliver end-to-end HR operational support for Japan, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant employee lifecycle services.

You will act as a key connector across HR systems, payroll support, external vendors, and internal partners to keep people operations running smoothly.

Success in this role comes from strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate both standard processes and more complex cases with confidence.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will deliver high-quality day-to-day HR services for Japan, ensuring all activities align with defined processes, SLAs, and compliance standards. You will handle employee lifecycle transactions and HR inquiries through Workday or similar HR systems with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency, while implementing core HR operations such as employee data management, onboarding and offboarding, and workforce administration.

You will partner closely with payroll teams, external benefits vendors, and internal partners to ensure seamless service delivery, acting as a key coordination point to resolve issues and maintain operational continuity. At the same time, you will identify and appropriately escalate complex or non-standard cases.

Beyond daily operations, you will contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and supporting initiatives that enhance efficiency and employee experience. You will also support reporting and data analysis to generate insights, and collaborate with regional and global teams to align on policies, standards, and compliance requirements, while continuously building your knowledge of HR processes and local practices in Japan.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Experience in HR operations, shared services, or HR support
  • Solid understanding of employee lifecycle processes and HR operations fundamentals
  • High detail oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality
  • Strong partner management and coordination skills
  • Fluent Japanese and business-level English

Desirable

  • Experience using Workday, IRIS, or similar HRIS systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting HR operations in Japan or knowledge of local labor practices
  • Experience working in a multinational company (MNC) environment
  • Exposure to payroll coordination or benefits vendor management
  • Experience contributing to process improvement or operational excellence initiatives
