As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and repair of automation systems and infrastructure across the facility. Your role will include programming & leading first-line response and troubleshooting for all process and non-process automation equipment supporting GMP manufacturing of Radiopharmaceuticals at the Indianapolis site.

In this capacity, you will spearhead the design and implementation of automation systems associated with such systems related to building monitoring, radiopharma tracking, production hot cells, digitization support, and other systems as assigned.

Additionally, you may assist with the commissioning, qualification, and validation of new automation equipment. Automation spare parts management will also fall under the responsibilities of this role as well as assisting with the creation of an Automation Master Plan for the site leveraging technical depth in a broad range of automation, controls, and data historian subject areas.

*This is an onsite role located at Rayzebio's Indianapolis, IN site*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Design, & Implement Automation systems for the Indianapolis site.

  • Maintain and create comprehensive documentation for automation systems including wiring diagrams, control strategies, and software architecture.

  • Integrate Automation systems with Radiopharma Hotcells and other production equipment.

  • Assist Validation team in the development and execution of test plans to validate performance and reliability of Automation systems.

  • Continuously monitor and optimize automation systems to enhance site reliability to reduce manual operations.

  • Lead and manage Automation projects from conception through deployment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to pharma and radiopharma specifications.

  • Support Operations in the development of process KPI’s as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of a BS degree in Computer Systems, Electrical Engineering or a related science that involved design, programming, and understanding of automation software.

  • 7+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer

  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as radiopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, or medical device manufacturing is highly desirable.

  • Working knowledge of building automation or building management systems (BAS/BMS) is required

    Previous experience installing, troubleshooting, and replacing PLCs, automation software such as Delta V, Johnsons Controls BMS or Simens FMCS.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated and organized professional able to work both independently and as part of a team

    ·Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for Electrical and Automation Systems.

  • Strong attention to detail is required

  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA, and HMI development.

  • Very personable with strong communication skills

  • Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information

  • Position will be expected to provide on-call support or respond to emergencies after hours in rare cases that critical equipment or alarmed/monitored systems require attention.

  • Prior experience programming with C++, Python, JAVA, or similar programming languages.
