The Perioperative Revenue Integrity Analyst plays a critical role in enhancing the financial health and efficiency of the clinical department by implementing and overseeing strategic initiatives aimed at maximizing revenue and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position demands a deep understanding of medical billing and coding practices and the ability to analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement. With a strong emphasis on process optimization and revenue cycle management, the analyst must will drive change and improve financial outcomes by collaborating with various teams to align departmental operations with the overall financial goals of the healthcare organization.

Essential Job Statements

Revenue Cycle Management and Optimization (20%)
Responsible for overseeing and enhancing the revenue cycle processes, including charge capture, coding accuracy, and billing, to improve financial performance and compliance.

Data Analysis and Financial Reporting (20%)
Conducts advanced data analytics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and the impact of changes on revenue; and prepare detailed financial reports for senior management.

Audit and Compliance Oversight (20%)
Leads internal audits of the clinical revenue processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and coding standards; address any issues identified during audits.

Collaboration and Communication (15%)
Works closely with clinical, operational, and financial teams to foster collaboration and ensure that revenue integrity initiatives are aligned with organizational goals.

Staff Training and Development (15%)
Provide ongoing education and training to staff on revenue cycle management, coding standards, and best practices to enhance departmental knowledge and performance.

Strategic Leadership in Revenue Integrity Programs (5%)
Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive revenue integrity strategies to ensure accurate billing and maximize revenue for the Radiology department.

Policy and Procedure Development (5%)
Develop and implement policies and procedures for revenue integrity and billing practices, ensuring they are current, compliant, and effectively communicated to all relevant staff.

Employment Qualifications

Required Education: GED

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field

Licensing/ Certification

Licensure/Certification Required: One (1) of the following current AHIMA current certifications: Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist–Physician Based (CCS-P) OR Other current coding related certification

Licensure/Certification Preferred: N/A

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience: Three to five years of experience in revenue cycle management within a hospital setting, with a significant focus on radiology or similar high-revenue departments.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Proven track record of leading successful revenue integrity programs and projects, with tangible improvements in financial outcomes.
