Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Military Trainer – Joint Event Scheduler / IM/KM Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals in Suffolk, Virginia. The Military Trainer will support the Joint Staff J7 Deputy Director Joint Training (DDJT), Plans and Operations Division (POD) in managing information for DDJT internal and external services to synchronize the joint training support effort. The Military Trainer will coordinate the production of training handbooks and other publications, oversee the processing of requests for joint training support, coordinate the preparation and execution of major planning and synchronization conferences, manage facility and joint event scheduling, and prepare activity reports for senior leaders. The Military Trainer must understand the organizational KM vision and develop and communicate technology solutions that best enable the team’s operating procedures and practices. The Military Analyst must be able to apply the core principles of knowledge management to planning tasks for military training, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and enjoy supporting a high visibility, fast-paced military training organization. The Military Trainer will provide onsite non-technical support and services to the government and military customers at the Joint Staff Suffolk, Virginia campus. Very limited tele-work may be authorized.
Responsibilities:
- Manages Out-of-Cycle Requirements process for coordination of emerging joint training support
- Oversees development, publication, and distribution of the Joint Event Training Handbooks
- Supports planning and execution of Joint Training Synchronization Conferences
- Develops routines, queries, and data analysis summaries to support DD JT leadership
- Serves as Ops and Plans liaison at Joint Exercise Division staff meetings in absence of division chief
- Coordinates inputs and writes weekly activity reports
- Manages and maintains Library and folder locations on the Joint Staff portals and shared drives
- Takes initiative to regularly evaluate processes and best practices to assess and recommend solutions for the Government customer
- Provides analyses, recommendations, and develops solutions utilizing SharePoint and Office products, many that can be maintained routinely by division personnel
- Optimizes 'out of the box' capabilities of both SharePoint and MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Promotes Knowledge Infusion and provides desk side, non-technical assistance, familiarity training, implementation and use of information and knowledge management best practices.
- Performs other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications for Military Trainer – Joint Event Scheduler / IM/KM Analyst:
- One of the following:
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 year of professional leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional leadership experience
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional leadership experience
- Must be willing and able to travel both CONUS and OCONUS as needed (up to 10% of the time)
- Must possess an active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. Passport
- Must be able to work on-site in Suffolk, Virginia
- Minimum 2 years' experience with Microsoft SharePoint environments
- Able to work with little supervision in fast-paced dynamic environments and able to supervise work of assistants
- Able to prepare and conduct seminars/work groups and group training sessions
- Ability to work with Senior Government, Military, and Contractor personnel
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. Passport
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) civilian equivalent
- Current TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience with U.S. Military Joint Training System
- Combatant Command exercise experience
- SharePoint Administrator and SharePoint Instructor experience
- Experience in planning, organizing, and leading working groups
- Joint Staff planning experience
Salary Range: $73,300.00 - $109,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
