As part of a global Network Operations Center (NOC) team this role provides Tier Three NOC support. Primary responsibilities include administering, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting Vanguards computer networks.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier Three-level network operational support services, including supporting large scale network installations, special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Participates in Major Incident Management activities, identifying network performance issues and trends (e.g., Identifies failing network components, reviews firewall for blocks, tracing of network traffic).

  • Ability to review and interpret network diagrams, documentation, including policies and procedures.

  • Complies with Information Technology & Information Security policies and procedures.

  • Adds, updates, and closes records in the Incident, IT Problem Management, Change Management records. Monitors records to ensure status are accurate and complete, and actions are on target.

  • Proactively reviews related records to identify requests that may have an impact on the network.

  • Identifies opportunities to automate manual system tasks.

  • Engages third party vendors for maintenance of supported devices.

  • Leads the development and training of NOC Analysts.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other related field required.

  • Two to four years related hands-on experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to remain calm while multi-tasking and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge and experience with Infinistream Sniffer, APCON or other packet analyzers

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with the following technologies: Cisco IOS, Nexus OS, Juniper Junos, Cisco ACI, F5 Load Balancing, WAN, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC and AWS Direct Connect.

  • Broad experience working with the following platforms: Brocade Switches, Cisco platforms, Juniper routers, Cisco ASA Firewall, Palo Alto Firewall, Aruba Wi-Fi and F5 Big IP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco Certified CCNA / CCNP

  • Network experience with a financial organization is preferred

  • Experience with ServiceNow is preferred, or similar comparable ITSM tool

  • Palo Alto Certification PCNSA / PCNSE

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner / Solutions Architect

  • Azure Fundamentals

Special Factors:

  • NOC Operations are 24 x 7 and this role may require occasional rotational support outside of traditional business hours.

  • This role is part of our hybrid work model with Tuesdays – Thursdays required in our offices to foster collaboration and relationships. On Mondays and Fridays, our crew will have the option to work remotely, or continue working from one of our offices in Malvern PA or Charlotte NC.
