As the Liability Claims Analyst at Cleveland Clinic's Enterprise Risk and Insurance department, you will prepare, analyze, and report key financial and enterprise risk and insurance information. You will develop standard/ad hoc reports to support the needs of the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, analyzes and communicates key financial information and provides support to management and other staff members regarding financial reporting and other related issues.
  • Assists with budget preparation and financial planning processes and budget review for compliance and opportunities.
  • Serves as consultant to all levels of management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Completes special projects and duties including providing necessary research, forecasting and conflict resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Compiling and analyzing loss data including the creation and preparation of department reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint and other appropriate applications.
  • Utilizes the Risk Management Information System to enter, analyze, and monitor claims, reserves, policy erosion and to create loss runs
  • Coordinates agenda and prepares supporting documentation for internal claims reviews in conjunction with CCF Law Department
  • Completes regulatorily required claims reporting to the Ohio Department of Insurance
  • Researches, prepares and assists with presentations on current claims and risks for CCF Hospital and Institute leadership
  • Trains with other Enterprise Risk Management Financial Analysts on general property and casualty insurance functions.  

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management highly preferred.

Certifications:

  • Certified Professional Health Care Risk Manager (CPHRM) highly preferred

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, attention to detail, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Awareness of key performance indicators, cash flow analysis, product line analysis and proposal development.

Work Experience:

  • One year of Enterprise Risk Management, Clinical Risk Management, Liability Claims Management, or experience as a broker for an insurance agency
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience using Excel
  • Experience managing RMIS (Risk Management Information Systems)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. 
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.  
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.  
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.  
  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
