Job Description: Senior Accountant

Location: India

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with at least 5+ years of experience, including 2 years in a senior role. This position requires an understanding of US GAAP, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to perform complex accounting tasks. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our company by ensuring accuracy and compliance in our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Month End and Analysis:
    • Be a top contributor to the month end close process by staying on tight deadlines and performing tasks efficiently
    • Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations.
    • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.
  2. Journal Entries and Reconciliations:
    • Prepare and post complex journal entries, including intercompany transactions, allocations, and amortizations.
    • Perform various types of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  3. Compliance and Audit:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
    • Assist with various audit tasks during various year end audits
  4. Problem Solving and Decision Making:
    • Work independently to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
    • Provide solutions and recommendations after receiving appropriate training and resources.
  5. Support US-based Deadlines:
    • Work augmented hours as needed to align with US time zones and meet critical deadlines.
    • Coordinate with US-based teams to ensure seamless financial operations.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with at least 2 years in a senior position.
  • Understanding of US GAAP and its application.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in analyzing and reviewing financial data.
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve after appropriate training.
  • Willingness to work augmented hours to support US-based deadlines.
  • Experience in performing various types of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Netsuite or similar accounting system and Microsoft Office Suite.
