What you’ll be doing
As a member of the Capital Markets Operations team, you’ll help shape how we deliver regulatory reporting excellence across our global markets businesses. As the Director, Regulatory Strategy and Operations – Capital Markets Trade Reporting, you’ll lead the development, implementation, and oversight of strategies to ensure we meet evolving global trade reporting requirements. You’ll manage operational teams, drive process improvements, and build partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in managing regulatory risk and guiding our response to industry changes. In this role, you’ll also represent CIBC in important regulatory discussions and industry forums.

How you’ll succeed
Develop and deliver strategies – Lead the creation and execution of strategies to comply with global trade reporting regulations, such as Dodd-Frank, European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II), and Canadian regulations.
Monitor and assess regulatory changes – Stay informed about regulatory developments, assess their potential impact, and advise senior leaders on risks and opportunities.
Oversee operations – Manage daily trade reporting operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Guide process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency.
Lead change management – Direct the implementation of regulatory changes, including project management, stakeholder engagement, and training for teams.
Manage risk and controls – Design and maintain strong control frameworks, conduct root cause analysis for errors, and support regulatory examinations and audits.
Build relationships – Represent CIBC in industry forums and regulatory consultations, and foster strong partnerships with global regulators and peer institutions.
