Sr. Chatbot Engineer

Join our team! We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Chatbot Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chatbot development, Conversational AI, API integration, and user interface enhancement. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for creating advanced chatbot solutions.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Sr. Chatbot Engineer, you will be responsible to:

  • Designs, develops and tests conversational chatbot for enhancements and new products  
  • Writes code according to coding specifications established for software solutions. 
  • Delivers software features with exceptional quality, meeting designated release plans and delivery commitments.
  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, and by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  • Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed. 
  • Collaborates with other designers and engineers 
  • Breaks down customer requirements/problems into for the team. 
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to stakeholders 
  • May support and develop software engineers by providing advice, mentoring, training, coaching, and educational opportunities. 
  • Provides subject matter expertise across sub-units
  • Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision 
  • Collaborates with other designers and engineers 

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in development of software applications
  • Minimum of 3 Years of college education in the area of Computer science
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in chatbot design and development using platforms like Kore.ai or any custom built chatbot platform.
  • Strong proficiency in integrating chatbots with APIs for efficient data exchange between chatbot and backend systems.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and implementing large language models to improve chatbot responses.
  • Proficiency in frontend technologies like React.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for managing and enhancing chatbot user interfaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to test and ensure chatbot functionality, accessibility, and compatibility across different browsers and devices.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
  • Managing code and changes in a team environment to include experience with source control utilities, such as Git, Node + npm
  • Ability to write clean, readable code that is easy to understand and maintain.
  • Experience in leading and collaborating within geographically and culturally diverse Agile scrum teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work effectively and independently.
  • Prompt engineering skills for optimizing chatbot interactions and responses.
  • Experience with data analysis, including the ability to analyze chatbot data to optimize performance based on user feedback and conversation history.
  • Hands-on with additional chatbot platforms and frameworks, such as Dialogflow or Microsoft Bot Framework.
  • Multi-stack development covering front-end/server-side development technology stacks 
  • Web development experience: Java, Python and other core languages across the web technology industry
  • Experience in designing conversational flows and user interactions for chatbots.
  • Cloud technology experience (e.g. AWS, Azure), or Docker is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance in chatbot development.
