PURPOSE

  • You provide coaching support to Domain and Sub-Domain leadership on how they transition to our ways of working, including mindsets, behaviours and practices. You equip them with the right knowledge, tools and training to harvest the Domain model's full potential.

  • You build a coaching and mentorship relationship with leaders to be effective in their roles. As part of that, you spend 1:1 time, contributing to the improvement of development quality and achieving efficiencies.

  • You are a custodian of the methods for ways of working across-Domains and play a pivotal role in the establishment of Domains, encouraging buy-in and adoption of our agile transformation.

  • You help teams to focus on value, prioritisation, continuous improvement and encourage teams towards a growth mindset.

  • When new ways of working create friction, tension or stress, you actively listen and provide a space where problems can be discussed with honesty and safety.

  • You address obstacles by facilitating cross Sub-Domain collaboration and work across the Domain to discuss, mitigate and address obstacles.

  • You actively support the execution of the Domain model by actively identifying room for improvement and action plans.

  • You coach people in applying the NAB values and behaviours.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shaping the strategy for organisation's adoption of agile

  • Employee and stakeholder buy-in for the agile transformation, along with the identification and implementation of Domain model improvements

  • Developing Domain cadence, working with Product Owners to prepare for planning forums and supporting the breakdown of strategic themes and business outcomes into backlogs of work for the squads to deliver

  • Facilitate forums and agile ceremonies to continuously improve on the ways of working across-Domains

  • Prioritise, manage and address role-relevant risks, including embedding awareness of risk identification and management, and supporting individuals across the Domains to remain accountable for their risk responsibilities

  • Define and refine a Coaching Engagement Plan for the Domain based on assessments and observations of the adoption of agile

  • Act as a thought-leader, advocate and champion for Agile across NAB contributing to the continuous improvement & adoption of NAB's Domain journey

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Experience

  • Experience in Agile Delivery with a deep understanding of key roles and agile ways of working

  • Excellent understanding of change management practices with experience driving and influencing change to deliver enterprise wide and/or large-scale transformation

  • Proven experience of leading teams with diverse skills to deliver against objectives, preferably within the financial services industry

  • Proven experience in observing, analysing, reflecting and challenging ideas or assumptions as well as using knowledge, facts and data to effectively solve problems

  • Experience working with a team of Product Owners across a number of initiatives and improving the way they manage their backlog, prioritise, align stakeholders and lead their teams

  • Excellent level of understanding of approaches and practices within Human Centred Design, Lean and BizDevOps methods (preferred)

  • A customer-centric mindset with a broad understanding of customer needs

  • Strong commercial acumen for what constitutes value-driven outcomes aligned to agile ways of working

  • Exceptional, and demonstrated relationship management skills

Qualification Requirements

  • Tertiary and/or post-graduate qualifications in management, business, IT, human resources or other relevant fields.

  • Agile certification (preferred but not required)
