Salary up to £38,000 per annum, plus, company van & fuel card

42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday -Friday)

Pyramid Plus South, a joint venture partnership between A2Dominion and Mears Property Services, provides repairs and maintenance, compliance, planned replacements and fire risk assessment works. We successfully complete over 35,000 repairs, 1,000 voids and fit 600 kitchens and bathrooms annually to 23,500 homes. With a wide range of upcoming projects, there are exciting times ahead as we continue to grow!

You will be required to travel to the following areas Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton, Staines and Bristol.

Part of a local team undertaking passive fire protection repairs and installations to maintain compartmentation lines to keep residents safe within their homes in the event of a fire occurring. We are looking for highly skilled Carpenters & Joiners to carry out repairs and refurbishment activities to Housing properties, delivering best in class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards.

  • You will have a certified core trade in support of completing repair/refurbishment works on time and to high standard in accordance with agreed standard operating procedures.
  • Take ownership in undertaking construction, fault finding and maintenance repairs aiming for a first time completion whilst remaining within budget and time parameters.               
  • Ensure that the customer experience is central to all activities by adopting a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and both internal/external stakeholders This includes but is not limited to appearance, company ID, condition of vehicles and maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety requirements. It may be necessary where requested to obtain customer feedback on completion of works.
  • Process all activities in association with tasks/works electronically utilising a hand held device (PDA). This includes, but not limited to, worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence of works before / during / after, van stock replenishment, booking of annual leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding issues, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Keep all supplied company assets in a good condition in line with the company policies and report to your Supervisor/Manager where damages occur.
  • Utilise existing stock or collect materials as and when required to meet works order requirements, in accordance with standard operating procedures for purchasing and van stock control compliance.
  • Attend informal and formal meetings and training sessions as required.

Day to day duties:

  • Fire door installation
    - Fitting new fire doors that are premade ensuring compliance is met.
    - Constructing new fire door assemblies ensuring compatibility of all component parts to ensure compliance is met.
  • Experience installing & carrying out remedial repairs to Fire Doors - Adjusting gaps to ensure compliance, general repairs due to damage, replacing hinges, changing damaged locks, fitting new locks, redoing plastering work around the doors
  • Fixing Fire door signs
  • Fire stopping
  • Making good and finishing

Role Criteria:

  • City & Guilds or equivalent in Carpentry & Joinery trade discipline. (level 2 and above)
  • Relevant certifications or training in Firestopping installations
  • Qualified in more than 1 trade from the following selection:
  • Glazing, Painting & Decorating, Plastering
  • Proven experience as a Fire Door Installer or in a similar role
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of fire door installation techniques and materials
  • Post trade qualified in core trade and additional preferred trade/s
  • CSCS card
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with necessary tools and equipment. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Worked within the Social housing background.
  • UK full driving license
  • Own tools
