The opportunity

The Cloud Platform Engineer will be working on automated provisioning of Azure cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code, and should have a good understanding of concepts of cloud like IaaS, PaaS, compute, storage, networking & analytics.

The position will work under leadership from the Director, Platform Engineering.

Location: CAN, Ontario, Toronto, 200 Bloor Street East

Hybrid 3 days (Tues., Wed., Thurs.)


Responsibilities

  • Work with the application teams to understand their infrastructure requirements & build the automated pipelines using cloud resources
  • Interact with Application business partners to define system requirements and necessary modifications to new or existing software.
  • Communicate with other developers and architects in implementing solutions that enable the business to be data-driven while protecting the data assets.
  • Communicates program progress, customer concerns, and issue analysis to critical team members.
  • Document solution artifacts, particularly process and functionality diagrams, and maintains their accuracy based on updates.

What we are looking for

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or related field of study.
  • 4 - 6 years of hands-on experience working as Azure Cloud Engineer using tools like Terraform, Azure CLI & PowerShell.
  • Excellent understanding of concepts of cloud like IaaS, PaaS, compute, storage, networking & analytics.
  • Azure cloud certification preferred.
  • Strong software development skills using object-oriented language like C# or Java and scripting languages like Python, Javascript, or Go
  • Experience with tools & softwares like Git, Jenkins, VS Code.
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and ability to work independently including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate designs, proposals, and results.

    Salary range is expected to be between

    $74,270.00 CAD - $137,930.00 CAD
