The Meetings & Events Planner for the US Midwest will plan and execute meeting and event experiences in an agile and innovative way, reflecting a customer-centric and operationally effective approach. This includes consistently delivering exceptional customer service by fostering an environment of hospitality for Accenture clients, customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event planning and event strategy
  • Manage event delivery and post-event facilitation, technology-related support, compliance and reporting
  • Vendor and venue procurement, contracting and dealings
  • Management of budgets, invoice reconciliation and payments

Communication Style ​

  • Adapts communication style and response time to consider customer seniority, situation, and support dedicated planning approach

Event Experience - Consultation & Development​

  • Provides inputs, manages or assists in the development of overall meeting logistics and attendee experience in support of event objectives

​Event Technology Tool ​

  • Uses technology to manage or support the planning processes for meeting, including meeting registrations, approval, budget and actual spend, calendars, meeting logistics, attendee registrations and reporting

Event Budget Management ​

  • Coordinates support of event budget and completion of procurement processes like deposits, purchase orders, billing and final reconciliation

Collaboration & Event Delivery Support​

  • Establishes relationships and collaborates with internal teams and service providers to ensure competitive costs and consistent delivery of service, including supporting the resolution of escalations related to meeting and events


 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 18 months experience in Event Planning and Venue Sourcing
  • Minimum of 18 months experience with food and beverage contract negotiation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)
  • Cvent Event Management Certification
  • Cvent Technology Meeting Management (18 months)
  • Cvent Technology Event Management (18 months)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
    Knowledge of the hospitality industry
  • Supports, manages or assists with the development and use of metrics/reporting to assess supplier spend and develop relationships to drive maximum savings for Accenture
  • Experience coordinating event venue searches and venue contract details, completing necessary procurement processes like deposits, purchase orders, billing and final reconciliation
  • Aptitude for customer service
  • Works well under pressure
  • Innovative and resourceful
  • Self-starter, with an adeptness for organization and accuracy
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Work independently, with the ability to seek supervision as needed
  • Demonstrated leadership in a professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York or Washington as set forth below.
