As a Project Manager ITD II, you will drive the successful execution of moderately complex projects from initiation through closure, utilizing the standard tools and artifacts outlined in ITD’s PMO Project Playbook. In this role, you will leverage the project team model to foster collaborative environments that enhance project delivery. This position is responsible for overseeing all project phases, ensuring successful execution while managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk constraints.
A caregiver in this role works remotely in Ohio, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Project Initiation & Team Formation
Develop the project charter and form a cross-functional team.
Set up and lead regular project team meetings to maintain alignment and momentum.
Planning & Scope Management
Define and manage project scope, success criteria, and stakeholder requirements.
Develop a detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), timeline, and resource plan.
Prevent scope creep by enforcing a structured change control process.
Execution & Delivery Oversight
Oversee day-to-day execution, ensuring alignment with goals and timelines.
Track milestones, update schedules, and manage interdependencies across teams.
Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and business objectives.
Monitoring & Controlling
Continuously monitor project performance against the baseline for scope, schedule, and cost.
Analyze variances, manage changes through formal processes, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Maintain visibility into progress through reporting, dashboards, and stakeholder updates.
Budget & Resource Management
Build and manage project budgets, forecasting costs and controlling expenses.
Coordinate and optimize resource allocation across internal teams and vendors.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify and analyze risks; maintain a Risk & Issue Register.
Implement mitigation and contingency plans proactively.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
Develop and execute a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed.
Manage stakeholder expectations through regular updates, influence, and negotiation.
Procurement & Vendor Oversight
Lead procurement activities, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure alignment with service-level agreements.
Project Closure
Close projects effectively and conduct lessons learned sessions and stakeholder reviews.
Finalize documentation and ensure smooth hand-off or transition.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field
Additional project management experience may offset the degree requirement
Four years of project management experience
For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within six months of position start date
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), or Certificate in Project Management from an accredited college
Experience working in a technical environment and healthcare organization
Understanding of healthcare workflows and experience deploying technology, applications, and boundary systems in support of hospital operations
Clinical integrations project management experience
EMR Implementation and Historic Data Conversion experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment.
