The Associate Director of Employee Health is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and administration of health services for students and employees. This position works closely with the Director to ensure the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services and programs; and promotes health and wellness within the campus community. The Associate Director innovates through the development of system-wide policies, procedures, programs and services to advance student, staff and physician wellbeing.
Daily Operations
CLINICAL MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the delivery of Medical services to students and employees, ensuring adherence to best practices and clinical guidelines
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, including specialists and mental health professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Manage the response to health emergencies and develop protocols for handling various medical situations.
- Effectively manage medical supplies, ordering and supply inventory
ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT
- Assist the Director in strategic planning and policy development.
- Supervise and support clinic and administrative staff, including hiring, training and performance evaluation.
- Oversee budgeting, purchasing and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
HEALTH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION
- Develop and implement health education programs and initiatives aimed at promoting wellness and preventing illness within the campus community.
- Collaborate with campus departments and external partners to deliver workshops, seminars and health fairs.
COMPLIANCE AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local health regulation and institutional policies.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of health services provided, implementing improvements as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with legal and institutional standards.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND COLLABORATION
- Foster relationships with local healthcare providers and organization to enhance the range of services available to students and employees.
- Serve as liaison between the Health services department and other campus units, promoting collaborative initiatives.
DATA ANALYSIS AND REPORTING
- Analyze health data to identify trends and develop strategies to address emerging health issues.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership on the status and effectiveness of health
- services and programs.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize duties and work closely with other programs/projects.
- Be well organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously with a problem-solving approach.
- Experience working effectively with clients from diverse background, with sensitivity to people from diverse communities.
- Literacy and experience with computer office programs (MS Work, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
- Excellent computer, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
Required Education and Experience
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare management role, preferably within an educational institution.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising clinical and administrative staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices in student and employee health services.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and data analysis tools.
- Superior management skills, including the ability to advocate for and manage to budget priorities.
- Self-reliant, problem solver and results oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handle pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously, including some evenings and weekends.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) with solid understanding of key marketing and communication tools (e.g. Web Content Management Systems, email systems, Google Analytics and other web metrics, Adobe Creative Suite, among others).
