 Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and talented Sales Executive assigned to sell one of our leading online news services, Ignites Asia. Ignites Asia is a news service covering the asset management in industry in Asia. Coverage includes retail, high-net-worth and institutional markets; asset management companies and service providers; regulatory shifts; fund flows; industry trends and much more. Ignites Asia is the one-stop-shop for news on the Asian asset management industry. This candidate will directly report to the Head of Sales (based in the U.S.), and responsible for leading the effort to promote the products and sell corporate subscription licenses. This position follows a hybrid schedule working in the Financial Times' Hong Kong office two-to-three days per week. 

What will I be responsible for? 

  • Effectively present and sell product to current and potential clients
  • Establish, develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Organize and manage a series of networking events in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets
  • Maintain detailed and organized records within company CRM
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts
  • Regularly attend industry events for networking purposes
  • Report market feedback to help improve the sales and marketing process
  • Utilize marketing data effectively to secure subscription licenses
  • Maintain and report prospect pipeline on a regular basis
  • Effectively cold call key prospects to promote product
  • Ability to clearly articulate subscription terms & conditions

What experience/skills do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Proficiency in English
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the sales process and superb interpersonal skills.
  • Proven successful track record in sales
  • Experience in lead development, lead follow up, targeted account selling and closing deals in person, email and by telephone or video
  • Validated persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Must take initiative and be a self-starter
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Experience attending conferences and trade shows, working meeting rooms and developing a good rapport with prospects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong experience in relationship building
  • High comfort level selling to senior level executives
  • Positive, can-do, hands on approach when faced with obstacles to success
  • Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of the structure of asset management firms a plus
  • SalesForce experience a plus
