Location: Birmingham
Role Purpose: Responsible for prospecting, identifying and qualifying new business opportunities in tandem with the Account Manager and for maintaining customer and project information in the CRM system. The customer development specialist establishes rapport and product confidence with customers. The position troubleshoots potential issues and resolves existing problems and maintains excellent customer relationships.
Accountabilities
- Supporting Account Managers in meeting or exceeding their annual sales quota by assisting with project development and helping to identify key decision makers.
- Developing and cultivating relationships with Architects, End Users and Contractors. Generating leads and scheduling sales appointments for Account Managers
- Conducting ongoing research of relevant and viable projects from various sources; i.e. project information leads, trade magazines, sending and following up samples orders, etc. Pre-qualifying applicable leads for entry into sales funnel
- Recommend potential products or services to management/Senior AM’s by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs
- Manage the process of pricing internally and to quote to selected accounts
- Maintain CRM to ensure all records for assigned accounts are accurate and informative with relevant contact information included
- Set up new accounts by inputting and maintaining all relevant project related and customer information, creating and distributing formal quotes for customers
- Support Account managers within the region for quick turnaround requests e.g. quotations and pricing and react quickly to customer enquiries through the desk based hub phone number.
- Co-ordinate & execute weekly telephone calls with Account Managers to prioritise weekly activities, discuss opportunities identified from research to determine which projects need to be developed in sales funnel.
- Manage a portfolio of customers, both existing and new (including re-engaging with declining or lapsed accounts) through relationship building you will identify their needs and promote Interface products and solutions to drive growth
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience of supporting a multi-influencer B2B sales environment. Confident and pleasant telephone manner
- Experience of working within CRM preferably Salesforce
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to interact with all levels of management, staff and employees
- Passionate about developing sales and customer relationships through the promotion of products and services
- Excellent organisational skills ability to prioritise
