THE OPPORTUNITY

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in both the Performance & Analytics and Business Solutions branches. In your first 12 months, you will be part of the Performance & Analytics branch within Business Solutions. After this period, you will transition to the Business Solutions branch.

As a subject matter expert in the SimCorp Dimension performance module, your responsibilities include developing and maintaining performance methodologies, calculations, benchmarks, and attributions to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality performance analytics.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring stable, reliable, and high-performing performance measurement system processes, while designing system enhancements based on a solid understanding of business requirements. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to participate in or lead cross-functional corporate or departmental projects.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or fields with a quantitative or technology focus

  • Professional designation such as CFA, CIPM, CPA is preferred

  • Familiarity with capital market products, trading, and data flow from operations and portfolio accounting to performance

  • Understanding of complex institutional investment portfolios and industry-standard performance measurement, attribution, and benchmarking practices

  • 2-5 years of experience in investment performance measurement and/or operation of financial markets software

  • Ability to learn new systems, concepts, and technology effectively

  • Strong analytical skills and experience troubleshooting multi-tiered systems

  • Strong technical skills; experience with SimCorp Dimension, SQL, Python, Jedox, or Microsoft Power BI an asset

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Proactive and able to work both collaboratively and independently to deliver results

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

During the first 12 months in Performance & Analytics

  • Support developing and maintaining performance methodologies, calculations, benchmarks, attributions, and reports

  • Evolve existing processes or reports to adapt to current business needs

  • Stay current on new investment products, strategies, trends, and industry best practices

  • Review performance reports and proactively identify opportunities for improvements in workflow

  • Conduct performance impact analysis and ad-hoc analysis

  • Support corporate and branch projects by reviewing results

  • Research industry best practices related to performance and attribution

After transitioning to Business Solutions

  • Troubleshoot day-to-day issues related to SCD Performance, developing a deep understanding of the root causes and workflow

  • Support Manager in evaluating requirements and designing SCD solutions for new investment programs, performance methodologies, calculations, benchmarks, and attribution measurements

  • Build and conduct reasonability and data integrity checks on portfolio, benchmark, classification, and attribution results

  • Provide system maintenance on investment structures, benchmarks, and performance measurements

  • Support performance modules during SCD upgrades and other cross-functional testing activities

  • Track system enhancements, defects, and functional gaps; work closely with software vendor and IT to articulate business requirements and participate in solution design, development, and testing

  • Improve SCD performance user experience by supporting training programs

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

Work from our downtown Victoria office; relocation support is available if needed.

SALARY RANGE

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.

The annualized base salary range for this role is CAD $100,000 to $120,000.

The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.

We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for

target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience and expertise.
