Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified professional to join our team as a Senior Backup Administrator. As an essential part of our team, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining enterprise-level backup and recovery environments using Commvault.

Qualifications

• +3 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise-level backup and recovery environments using Commvault (v11.x or newer).

• Expert knowledge in Commvault administration, including full management, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Strong expertise in database backup and restore operations for Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, including RMAN integration and agent configuration.

• Advanced knowledge in virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V for VM backup, VSA configuration, and proxy optimization.

• Experience with cloud backup integration and storage management in Azure and AWS environments.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including ports, firewalls, proxies, and DNS configuration.

• Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems administration.

• Fluent in Portuguese, with advanced technical English.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise Commvault backup and recovery infrastructures.

• Design, implement, and manage backup and retention policies aligned with business continuity and compliance requirements.

• Monitor backup job performance and storage utilization, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

• Perform full and granular restores, including disaster recovery (DR) operations and validation tests.

• Manage and maintain Commvault agents for Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute patching, upgrades, and configuration changes within the backup environment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to backup failures, job delays, and performance degradation.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and security teams to ensure robust data protection standards.

• Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and reports on system performance.

Nice to Have

• Experience with hybrid cloud backup strategies and cross-platform recovery.

• Understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation for backup tasks.

• Experience with compliance standards and data protection regulations such as GDPR.

• Commvault Certified Professional (CCP) or Commvault Certified Engineer (CSE) certification is highly desirable.

• Intermediate to advanced Spanish proficiency.
