Freese and Nichols is seeking a Project Accountant to perform accounting and administrative functions to maintain the financial integrity of assigned operating groups within the objectives and guidelines established. This position is open to various Freese and Nichols locations across Texas!

  • Respond to internal/external clients and vendors in a timely manner and meet targeted deadlines
  • Work with senior Project Accounting staff to ensure assigned standard projects and invoices are in compliance with requirements and project accounting processes.
  • Provide assistance to senior Project Accounting staff in the review of time sheets and expenses to ensure accurate and timely reporting of direct and indirect labor costs and expenses, as assigned.
  • Perform routine project maintenance and accurately complete assigned day-to-day and month-end processes to meet target deadlines as assigned.
  • Review and complete assigned client invoices by target deadlines and ensure quality control measures are achieved.
  • Effectively manage Unbilled WIP for assigned projects and resolve issues independently.
  • Review standard contracts for clients and subconsultants for risk-related language and to ensure compensation terms align with project scope and terms and conditions, as assigned.
  • Assist Project Managers and other operational staff with day-to-day project accounting requests.
  • Provide basic project data and analysis to Project Managers using self-service reporting tools as requested.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance role

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • Experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry
