Who we are
The Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) is an institution that represents 100 years of growth from a small school of veterinary medicine in 1916 to its present role as a major veterinary educational, medical, and research center. What we want
The laboratory technician is a staff member who will work primarily with Senior Professor as well as Image Analysis Laboratory staff to collect and analyze digital imaging data obtained from optical and electron microscopy instrumentation and assist with planning of imaging experimental data collections. Images will be primarily collected from fixed and live cells for processing/analyzing functional imaging data.
Multiple structural and functional endpoints in live cells will be measured/analyzed with functional fluorescence probes or organelle specific labels to evaluate dynamic processes in living, fixed and/or processed cells and tissues analyzed with imaging processing tools involving a variety measurements such as organelle size, object tracking, 3D measurement, pattern recognition, and functional assessments of physiological endpoints using fluorescence probes of cellular function.
A goal is to begin exploring label-free phenotypic assays in cells and deep learning models to predict/simulate fluorescent probes directly from unstained cells.
