We are seeking a talented individual to join our Victor Insurance team at Marsh as the Head of Underwriting Operations working in our Melbourne office.  This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. 

Head of Underwriting Operations
 

We will count on you to:

• Lead and manage the underwriting department, including Underwriting Managers, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are consistently met.

• Drive technical and process development by collaborating with stakeholders to maintain underwriting standards and service quality.

• Oversee insurer audits, compliance, and risk management while fostering strong relationships with insurers and distribution channels.

• Lead strategic projects including the Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation and support business transformation initiatives.

• Develop talent within the team, support succession planning, and promote Victor’s culture and brand values.

What you need to have:

• Extensive experience in underwriting operations within the intermediary insurance market, including managing multi-functional teams and delivering departmental KPIs.

• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage managers and motivate teams.

• Deep understanding of regulatory and trading requirements, including delegated binding agreements and MGA operational models.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and implement optimal workflows.
