About the Role

The Warehouse Lead - Days plays an important role in the warehouse and logistics departments. The Warehouse Lead - Days works in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and is responsible for monitoring shipping and receiving activities in the department, as well as leading the company’s cycle count program and occasionally operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Track and manage raw materials, equipment, shipments, and stock levels.
  • Digitally manage inventory systems, reconcile variances, and prepare accurate inventory reports.
  • Monitor and prevent supply shortages; proactively address unexpected shortages.
  • Participate in regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Place and manage material orders as required to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain and update supplier purchasing files with complete pricing and contract details.
  • Review, process, and reconcile all incoming and outgoing orders.
  • Oversee receiving operations to ensure accuracy against purchase orders and quality standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order picking/selection to meet KPIs.
  • Manage invoicing, packaging, and preparation of orders for shipment.
  • Coordinate accurate, timely, and efficient customer deliveries, including those handled by outside transport.
  • Partner with supervisors and management to plan and schedule daily/weekly tasks in line with demand.
  • Cross-train team members for flexibility and operational coverage.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and performance reviews for new team members, ensuring smooth integration.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive, collaborative, and adaptable work environment.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly operational and performance reports.
  • Set and monitor productivity goals; ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor to improve efficiency and reduce errors, fuel, maintenance, and labor costs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization across cooler, freezer, and dry storage areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and OHSA/Health & Safety standards.
  • Enforce company Food Safety and HACCP regulations.
  • Ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained and safe to operate.
  • Oversee cooler/freezer product movement and integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with Sales and other departments to support customer needs.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work evenings as needed.
  • Ability to use scanning guns and warehouse technology effectively.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • 2+ years of hands on experience in a similar role

  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent financial skills (e.g. budgeting, calculating, accounting)
  • A successful Warehouse Lead - Days will often have previous experience on the floor of a retail store or warehouse.
  • Experience with responsibilities such as stocking shelves and supplying management with inventory reports are considered an asset to the Warehouse Lead - Days position. A candidate may also have experience in Project Management or Production Management.
  • Warehouse Lead - Days education and training requirements
  • Completion of specialized training courses in management, inventory management, or computer software is considered a strong asset in a candidate.
  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in business administration or management can be considered as exceptional candidates for the position.
  • Ability to lift 50-70 lbs.
