Job Summary

SHI is entering a significant period of growth and transformation across IT Asset Management, FinOps, Spend Optimization Services, and its Canadian business. The Director, ITAM & Canada Transformation will partner with the Head of ITAM Services & Canada and the broader leadership team to help translate an ambitious growth agenda into an organization capable of executing it.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, organizational effectiveness, transformation, leadership enablement, growth, and execution.
The Director will help build the operating model, leadership practices, governance, organizational capabilities, and cross-functional relationships required to scale the business. The role will support several of the organization's highest-priority transformation efforts while creating the mechanisms that allow leaders and teams to increasingly execute those priorities through business-as-usual operations.

The role will work closely with leaders across ITAM, FinOps, Spend Optimization Services, Canada, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Delivery, Operations, Finance, People & Culture/Human Resources, and Learning & Development to create clarity, coordination, and accountability while ensuring long-term ownership remains with the appropriate business functions.

Strategy, Transformation & Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a strategy and execution partner to the Head of ITAM Services & Canada, helping translate long-term business objectives into clear priorities, decisions, and operating plans.

  • Develop and maintain an integrated 12–24 month transformation roadmap across ITAM Services, Spend Optimization Services, and Canada.

  • Frame complex strategic questions, evaluate options and trade-offs, and develop recommendations that enable timely executive decision-making.

  • Identify organizational, commercial, talent, customer, and execution risks before they become barriers to growth.

  • Lead high-priority strategic initiatives that span multiple functions or fall outside the clear ownership of any single organization.

  • Establish mechanisms for moving strategic initiatives from executive-sponsored transformation efforts into sustainable business-as-usual ownership.

  • Strengthen leadership team effectiveness by improving clarity, decision quality, prioritization, accountability, and organizational follow-through.

Leadership Operating Model & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Design and facilitate the leadership operating model for ITAM Services & Canada, including business reviews, planning sessions, decision forums, priority reviews, and leadership offsites.

  • Establish clear governance for decision-making, escalation, prioritization, accountability, ownership, and cross-functional follow-through.

  • Create frameworks that help leaders distinguish between strategic priorities, business-as-usual responsibilities, and work that should be stopped, delegated, or deprioritized.

  • Reduce organizational friction caused by unclear ownership, competing priorities, duplicated work, informal project assignment, and overreliance on executive escalation.

  • Strengthen collaboration across legacy teams, newly hired leaders, functions, geographies, and different organizational cultures while reinforcing the operating practices expected of the future organization.

Leadership Team Effectiveness & Capability Building

  • Assess leadership-team effectiveness, organizational capabilities, role clarity, and development needs.

  • Partner with the Head of ITAM Services & Canada to establish leadership expectations, development priorities, and team effectiveness practices.

  • Facilitate leadership effectiveness work focused on trust, accountability, decision-making, collaboration, communication, and execution.

  • Support succession planning, organizational design, role clarity, and capability-building decisions in partnership with People & Culture and Learning & Development rather than owning HR programs or enterprise training delivery.

  • Help institutional and transformation-oriented leaders work together effectively and translate development activity into measurable organizational performance improvements.

Canada Growth & Market Transformation

  • Partner with the Head of ITAM Services & Canada and Canadian leadership to define and execute a 24-month growth strategy for SHI Canada, including market priorities, organization design, talent, enablement, and growth milestones.

  • Assess the current Canadian business and recommend the leadership structure, operating model, capabilities, and investments required for accelerated growth.

  • Help establish a more empowered Canadian operating model with clearer local ownership and stronger connection to SHI's broader North American capabilities.

  • Partner across Sales, Enablement, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and People & Culture to support Canadian expansion while reinforcing clear functional ownership.

  • Identify and remove structural barriers that limit Canada's ability to operate as a strategically important growth market.

  • Adapt scalable practices from high-performing SHI markets to fit the Canadian market.

Growth, Go-to-Market & Strategic Customers

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Services, and practice leadership to strengthen go-to-market execution for Spend Optimization Services and emerging capabilities.

  • Establish a disciplined approach for identifying, prioritizing, and pursuing large strategic opportunities that require coordinated executive and cross-functional engagement.

  • Develop frameworks for executive sponsorship of SHI's most strategically important customer opportunities, particularly those involving multiple solution areas or C-level relationships.

  • Improve the effectiveness of Customer Advisory Boards, executive briefings, strategic account conversations, and other senior customer-engagement mechanisms.

  • Facilitate cross-functional planning around transformational opportunities and translate executive relationships into coordinated commercial action.

  • Clarify ownership, investments, dependencies, milestones, and expected outcomes for strategic growth initiatives without duplicating marketing execution or carrying a traditional sales quota.

Services Strategy & Business Maturity

  • Support the maturation and commercialization of emerging services within Spend Optimization Services and adjacent transformation capabilities.

  • Partner with service leaders to develop frameworks for determining when offerings are ready to scale, including market demand, positioning, delivery readiness, enablement, customer experience, economics, and operational support.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment required to successfully launch and scale new capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities to standardize services, customer experiences, delivery approaches, and operating processes where greater consistency will improve scale or profitability.

  • Create visibility into major dependencies across sales, delivery, customer success, partnerships, marketing, operations, and enablement.

  • Support strategic planning for emerging areas such as FinOps, AI economics and token economics, transformation services, and broader technology-spend optimization.

Organizational Change, Communications & Employee Engagement

  • Develop an integrated organizational-change and communication approach for major business transformations.

  • Build leadership communication frameworks that connect business strategy to what employees need to understand, believe, and do differently.

  • Lead the strategy and architecture for all-hands meetings, leadership communications, transformation updates, and major organizational forums.

  • Establish mechanisms for employee listening, feedback, engagement measurement, organizational effectiveness, change adoption, and leadership effectiveness.

  • Translate employee feedback into organizational insights and actionable recommendations for leadership.

  • Partner with People & Culture and Communications on execution while maintaining clear business ownership of transformation messaging and organizational alignment.

Cross-Functional Governance & Enterprise Navigation

  • Serve as a coordination point for major enterprise requests affecting ITAM Services & Canada.

  • Establish an intake and prioritization approach that protects organizational capacity while ensuring critical enterprise initiatives receive appropriate support.

  • Build strong relationships across Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance, People & Culture, Learning & Development, Customer Success, Delivery, Partnerships, and other SHI organizations.

  • Clarify ownership, decision rights, dependencies, capacity, commitments, and trade-offs when initiatives span multiple teams, helping move work into sustainable business-function ownership over time.

  • Identify recurring organizational friction and recommend systemic solutions rather than relying on one-time escalation.

  • Represent the priorities of ITAM Services & Canada in enterprise forums as appropriate while creating systems and accountability that allow the organization to execute more effectively without centralizing unnecessary work.

Business Performance, Insights & Accountability

  • Develop a performance framework connecting strategic priorities to measurable business outcomes.

  • Establish dashboards and scorecards covering financial performance, growth, customer outcomes, employee experience, strategic initiatives, organizational capability, and transformation progress.

  • Facilitate regular business and strategy reviews focused on insight, decisions, and corrective action rather than status reporting.

  • Partner with Finance and operational leaders to identify drivers of financial performance and opportunities to improve profitability and operating leverage.

  • Translate complex business information into clear executive narratives, recommendations, and decisions.

  • Monitor progress against transformation goals and recommend changes to priorities, sequencing, investments, or operating models when needed.

Within the first 12–24 months, this leader will have helped establish:

  • A clear strategic roadmap for ITAM Services, Spend Optimization Services, and Canada with defined priorities, owners, milestones, and measures of success.

  • A stronger leadership operating model with improved decision-making, accountability, collaboration, role clarity, and execution discipline.

  • A credible Canada growth strategy supported by the operating mechanisms, leadership capability, and cross-functional alignment required to execute it.

  • Clearer ownership and prioritization of cross-functional initiatives, reducing duplicated effort, unplanned work, and organizational overload.

  • A repeatable approach to strategic customer engagement, complex growth opportunities, go-to-market coordination, and services maturity.
