This Position reports to:

Business Chief Financial Officer

 

In this role, you will enable ABB Robotics Tax function to manage (direct and indirect) tax matters optimally in Asia Pacific (APAC).

 

Reporting to Robotics Global Head of Tax, this role is based in China (Shanghai preferred).          

As a Robotics APAC Tax Manager, you will:

• Drive the building of the Robotics Tax Management in the APAC Region
• Manage Regional Tax Specialists reporting to you
• Ensure tax compliance for the Robotics footprint in the APAC Region
• Implement global tax initiatives, policy, procedures and processes
• Balance resources to manage the tax management and compliance in APAC
• Actively collaborate with other Regional Tax Managers to elaborate common practices and find optimal global resource allocation
• Oversee the legal structure and pursue opportunities for simplification and optimization
• Drive ETR improvements and tax savings

In addition, it is expected from you for several Countries in the APAC Region to act like a Country Tax Responsible:

• Oversee compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Collaborate with Outsourced Service Providers and manage the relationships from a cost and delivery perspective
• Support Robotics Tax Process Operations in compliance activities
• Approve tax payments and monitor refunds
• Review and approve Tax returns
• Forecast or review tax payment calculations
• Analyze potential tax implications for transactions and business projects
• Provide tax advice to business and other functions
• Pursue country tax planning opportunities and implement if relevant
• Maintain effective relationships with external advisors and tax authorities
• Proactively identify and manage tax risks and quantify uncertain tax position
• Manage internal controls for Tax
• Ensure country transfer pricing documentation is in place and country specific compliance requirements are fulfilled
• Manage tax audits and disputes
• Build relationships and interact with key country/regional stakeholders

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ proven experience in tax area (direct and/or indirect tax);
• Master´s or Bachelor´s degree in accounting, finance, tax or legal;
• Ability in leading people and collaborating pragmatically
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment and changes in priorities;
• Excellent analytical skills
• Fluent English speaking and writing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and engagement with a broad range of internal/external stakeholders.
