Payroll Administrator

Join our HR team at Land O'Lakes! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee time and attendance records, payroll calculations, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills to manage payroll processes effectively and handle employee inquiries regarding payroll and attendance matters.

This role is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Arden Hills, MN (Hybrid work arrangement each week)

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Support:

  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding payroll, time, and attendance.

  • Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.

  • Assist employees with accessing and using the time and attendance system.

Time and Attendance Management:

  • Monitor and review employee time and attendance records for accuracy.

  • Ensure all timecards are submitted and approved according to payroll deadlines.

  • Resolve discrepancies in time and attendance records in collaboration with managers and employees.

  • Maintain and update the time and attendance system with employee information and schedules.

  • Troubleshoot timeclock hardware setup and collaborate with IT Helpdesk to resolve issues 

Payroll Processing:

  • Complete payroll time and attendance audits to be processed for payroll.

  • Communicate with managers to verify accuracy and completeness of timesheets before submission.

  • Complete payroll inputs and assist with off-cycle runs.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll and attendance processes.

  • Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration or a related role preferred.

  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations desired

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Ability to navigate payroll systems (Workday).
