Position Summary:

The Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential acquisition opportunities for DataOne. This role is critical to D1’s growth strategy, as it involves researching and reaching out to owners of targeted businesses to assess their interest in discussing acquisition possibilities. This role is ideal for someone with a sales or business development background who is skilled at opening doors and uncovering initial interest from potential acquisition targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily outbound calls to business owners and decision-makers to assess their openness to acquisition discussions.
  • Build rapport with potential sellers, gathering preliminary insights on their motivations, business structure, and alignment with DataOne's acquisition goals.
  • Maintain detailed records of all interactions and outcomes in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Work closely with the CFO and Finance team to share qualified leads and schedule follow-up discussions.
  • Provide initial information about D1’s acquisition approach and answer basic questions to target company’s.
  • Collaborate with the team to refine lead criteria and sourcing strategies based on market feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly over the phone.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in sales, business development, or acquisitions preferred.
