Summary

Osceola Heritage Park is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is primarily responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of smaller vehicles, including golf carts, landscaping equipment, utility vehicles, and other similar machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on golf carts, landscaping equipment, and other small vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and repair engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical components, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor time.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of parts, tools, and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Provide support to other maintenance and operations staff as needed.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of gasoline and electric vehicle systems, small engines, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to operate a variety of small vehicles safely.

Education and/or Experience          

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in small engine repair preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of small vehicles or equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
