A Day in the Life

The Senior IT Auditor is a seasoned individual contributor within the Corporate Audit team. Our Senior IT Auditor assists with and leads the execution of IT audits and advisory reviews, along with integrated audit projects with the Finance & Operations team.

As a member of the Corporate Audit team, the Senior IT Auditor will contribute to our mission through the independent and objective identification, assessment and evaluation of risks and controls.

A Day in the Life:

o     Executes individual work, and oversees the work of others, while exhibiting an awareness and ability to connect work to department and business initiatives.

o     Performs IT audit projects and integrated audits in accordance with department standard operating procedures, as well as International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

o     Collaborates with others in the Global Audit Department and across the business and IT functions.

o     Initiates, prepares for, and leads meetings, such as risk assessments, audit kick-off, closing, deficiency discussions.  This includes conversations with internal (e.g., Corporate Audit, control owners, leaders) and external stakeholders (e.g., external auditors, consultants). 

o     Executes and leads audit projects through all stages of the audit process (scoping, planning, fieldwork, and reporting). Identify and evaluate Medtronic controls for gaps and opportunities, propose solutions, and partner with management to determine remediation. 

o     Manages multiple projects at the same time, including operating in an organized manner, maintaining an open items list, following up timely with business partners, and escalating issues and open items timely. 

o     Coaches team members in support of the audit process, technology, and department operations.  This includes providing timely reviews and feedback.  

o     Works independently, with moderate oversight, as well as collaboratively as part of team. 

o     Understands the Medtronic and Audit mission to drive innovation, accelerate change, and embrace diversity and inclusion. Individuals will set challenging goals, enable operational excellence, maintain accountability, and model ethical behavior.

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:

o     Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., computer science, information security, management information systems, or accounting).  

o     4+ years of audit, financial, internal controls, or relevant other experience

o     Public Accounting (preferably Big 4) experience, or IT audit experience within a corporate internal audit department.  

o     Must be fluent in English and Chinese – Mandarin (written and spoken) 

o     Understand IT systems and infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, databases, and cybersecurity.

o     Understand China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), China’s Cybersecurity Law (CSL) and Data Security Law (DSL).

o     Knowledge of Multi-Level Protection Scheme (MLPS 2.0) /MLPS Auditing experience.

 

Nice to Have:

o     Achievement or professional certification, such as an MBA, CPA, CISA CIA, and/or CISSP (if not currently certified, candidate must commit to certification within a defined timeframe).

o     Knowledge of industry standards and best practices, such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks.

o     Knowledge in SAP Security

o     Be fluent in Japanese (written and spoken)
