Job Description Summary: The Director is responsible to lead the Supply Chain team ensuring Airgas meets the expectations of over 10,000 bulk customers throughout the United States.  The Director will have the overall responsibility for the supply chain of ASU, CO2 and LH2 for Airgas Merchant Gases.

  • Lead a group of Supply Chain Managers & Analysts that are responsible for the supply chain of Airgas bulk products.  

  • Lead the team in meeting and exceeding Airgas Integrated Bulk Operations (IBO) initiatives specifically IBO Optimization.  Responsible for a bulk supply chain that consists of 50+ production plants, 1,100+ bulk drivers, 750 trailers and 270 rail cars. 

  • Lead the team for ensuring reliable product supply for customers during planned/unplanned outages, force majeure situations and coordinate appropriately with multiple groups within Airgas and Air Liquide. 

  • This role will make decisions that have an impact on the profitability and customer experience of all 16 Airgas Regional Companies, Air Liquide Large Industries and Air Liquide Electronics. Advise Product Management and the sales team on the impact of  business development opportunities to the Airgas network.

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, work across the business identifying significant efficiencies and implementing changes while avoiding disruption to daily activities.  

  • Benchmark with industry and academic logistics leaders; transform the logistic operation through technology, innovation and best practices

  • Collaborate with Distribution, Production, Energy Management, Logistics and Product Management to deliver our products safely, on time and economically to our diverse customer base.

  • Interact with the WBL to set global standards for the supply chain. Interact and share best practices with international supply chain leaders within our parent company, Air Liquide.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field

  • At least five years multiple site strategic management/leadership experience required

  • At least ten years logistics/supply chain/distribution experience required 

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Ability to operate custom supply chain software (ALTO, OSCD, PI)

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree is a plus. 

  • Previous industrial gas experience a plus
