Manager, Network Security 

 

 

Role Overview 

 

Finastra is currently seeking a Manager, Network Security, to join the Network Engineering organization. Reporting to Senior Director, Network Engineering and Implementation, this position is responsible for network security solutioning and incident response for the Finastra enterprise. The chosen leader will partner with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to design, deliver, maintain, and enhance Finastra's network security capabilities. 

 

The ideal candidate should be forward-thinking, dedicated and detail-oriented with a strong desire to work within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Must have leadership experience managing a globally dispersed team of high performing engineers. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Contribute to Finastra’s modernization program for network security as functional excellence leader. 

  • Partner with Security Engineering and IT Architecture leaders to oversee design and delivery of enterprise-grade network security solutions. 

  • Contribute to roadmap development workstreams that align with overarching business goals of Finastra. 

  • Proof of concept and pilot NextGen network security capabilities that include cloud native technologies. 

  • Work directly with InfoSec and Network Engineering teams to develop and enhance network solutions that improve Finastra’s security posture. 

  • Partner with technology vendors and procurement peers to validate financial costs – capital and expense, statement of work (terms and conditions) that represent network security solutions. 

  • Design and Standards: Accountable for design and implementation standards for all network security capabilities deployed globally across the enterprise. 

  • Adhere to IT Service Management policy and procedures for return to service tasks, problem management, and change control activities.  

  • Accountable for global firewall infrastructure and security tool maintenance. 

  • Ensure that runbooks are published for routine maintenance activities. 

  • Maintain technical configuration documents and lead the review/update of processes and procedures related to network security services. 

  • Ensure that team members compile Microsoft Visio diagrams that depict network security architecture and low-level design. 

  • Manage cross-functional network security initiatives with teams from DevOps, IT, and Product Development. 

  • Proven ability to create network security proposals in Microsoft PowerPoint for executive consumption. 

  • Be available for On-Call after hours support as first line escalation point. 

  • Accountable for 24x7x365 network security incident and response needs of Finastra. 

  • Network security control owner for audit and compliance needs. 

  • Coach, mentor, and develop talent within the Network Security team. 

  • Role requires occasional travel, up to 10% 

 

Technical Skills 

 

  • Foundational knowledge of networking and data communication fundamentals including connectivity methods, security functions, and routing/switching protocols 

  • Functional knowledge of internetworking standards and network security management tools 

  • Functional knowledge of OSI model 

  • Fundamental Networking principles (TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, etc.) 

  • Technical expertise with load-balancer technologies and web application firewall 

  • Working experience with the following: application firewall inspection, intrusion detection/prevention, dynamic web filtering, internet proxy, firewall management and audit tools 

  • Micro segmentation knowledge and deployment experience desired 

  • Microsoft Azure experience desired 

  • Prior management role in the FinTech vertical desired.  

 

 

Required Experience:

 

  • 4-year undergraduate degree or 8 years equivalent work experience 

  • 3-year minimum, people management experience (global preferred) 

  • Problem solving/troubleshooting abilities 

  • Risk analysis and mitigation skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – oral and written 

  • Intermediate financial and accounting knowledge – amortization, depreciation, CAPEX/OPEX 

  • Proven success as Implementation Manager 

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Detail and results oriented
