The Crown Is Yours

As a Government Affairs Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping regulatory and legislative policies that impact the business across the United States. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including attorneys general offices, lobbyists, legislators, and regulators, to influence the legislative and regulatory environment governing sports betting, iGaming, and fantasy sports. When you join us, you’ll play a key role in defining the legal framework for these industries nationwide.

What you’ll do as a Government Affairs Specialist

  • Assist in the coordination and management of multi-state initiatives, engaging with state attorneys general, legislators, and regulatory agencies.

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with attorneys general offices, policymakers, and third-party organizations.

  • Provide strategic advice on government affairs to support our regulatory and legislative goals.

  • Represent DraftKings at conferences, meetings, and events, including state attorneys general gatherings.

  • Review and analyze legislation, draft comments on proposed regulations, and assess their impact on the business.

  • Testify at legislative hearings and other regulatory meetings to advocate for DraftKings’ positions.

  • Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes, providing timely insights to key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the Communications Team and other internal departments to align government affairs efforts.

 

What you’ll bring   

  • At least 3 years of experience in Government Affairs; experience in Texas preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the gaming industry and relevant laws affecting gaming operations.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to identify key issues, provide strategic solutions, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
