What is the opportunity?
The Vice President, Client Management drives retention and revenue growth across Global Transaction Banking's most strategic and complex Financial Institution relationships. Reporting to the Managing Director and Head of Client Management, Global Transaction Banking, and working closely with senior management and senior coverage colleagues, this role focuses on delivering exceptional client service while identifying and capitalizing on cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within GTB's core product suite.
What will you do?
Responsible for developing and implementing a relationship plan for assigned clients – either independently or in collaboration with Segment Head/Directors.
Identify, develop, and actively maintain relationships with key client contacts.
Effectively support revenue growth and profitability by reducing revenue leakage and focusing on opportunity spotting initiatives.
Understand the depth/breadth of the client relationship across RBC enterprise to leverage opportunities to grow the business.
Ongoing information sharing with clients (e.g., industry updates, market changes, regulatory changes).
Handle credit activities as required – i.e., intra-day limits, coverage of overdrafts.
Identify and address client irritants/process inefficiencies and share findings/recommendations with RBC stakeholders to improve GTB’s products and services.
Take personal responsibility for high achievement – actively participate in coaching/mentoring opportunities to improve individual and team contribution.
Build both an internal and external network to contribute to sales and service efficiency.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Completion of an undergraduate degree in business management or related field
5+ years’ experience in the Financial Services Sector
Proven experience in cash management products and services to financial institution clients and/or corporate clients and/or non-bank financial institutions.
Strong relationship management, business, and financial services acumen
Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interact with and influence senior management, leadership and client stakeholders influencing transformational change in a cross-functional matrix environment.
Excellent research and analytical skills
Nice-to-have
Awareness of strategic market influencers such as Payments Canada, SWIFT, OSFI, FINTRAC
Knowledge of domestic and global payments
Project management expertise
