The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Business Supply Chain Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Work across plan, source, make and deliver to execute business objectives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the business, planning, supply chain, laboratory, packaging, finance, and marketing on a variety of projects to deliver business results.
• Business supply chain leader on new product development teams, leading the manufacturing, process development, qualifications and scale up to launch.
• Lead cost improvement projects.
• Collaborate with lab team on improvements in product quality, process understanding and specifications.
• Lead change management process for raw material, SOS, equipment, and process changes.
• Work with 3M plants, sourcing, suppliers, and subcontractors globally to improve product cost, quality and service.
• Lead Make vs Buy analysis to drive cost down and improve the supply chain.
• Identify and execute SOS moves to improve supply chain lead-time and cost.
• Analysis and execution of portfolio simplification efforts to drive operational cost down.
• Work with plants, division engineers and corporate manufacturing engineering to bring new equipment capabilities and capacities to support growth and cost improvements.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Four (4) years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Manufacturing experience in manufacturing plants
• Green Belt trained and experience leading high impact LSS projects
• Strong process engineering and project management skills
• Ability to work well cross functionally.
• Strong organization and communication skills

Work Location: On-Site: Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $122,292 - $149,468, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
