Job Description

Project-Based Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of project-specific health & safety programs in accordance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with the project agreement.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal health and safety audits to ensure compliance with project-specific standards, legal requirements, and ACCIONA policies.
  • Coordinate site-level safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate third-party or client safety audits and manage the resolution of any findings or non-conformances.
  • Coordinate site-level safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Manage emergency preparedness planning, including coordination of drills and ensuring business continuity protocols are in place.
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety protocols.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and oversight to the project HSE team, subcontractors, and workforce to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of safety activities, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Other duties as related to the role.

Corporate Functional Responsibilities:

  • Support ACCIONA's broader HSEQS initiatives by aligning project-level performance with corporate safety standards and systems.
  • Contribute to corporate reporting, including incident trends, leading indicators, and KPIs, as required by the HSEQS functional team.
  • Participate in corporate HSEQS reviews, benchmarking, and improvement programs.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices with ACCIONA’s regional and global safety teams to support continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as related to the role

Required Skills and Competencies

  • 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years’ of health and safety related experience on major constriction projects in a lead role
  • NCSO-IHSA or Canadian Registered Professional (CRSP), or demonstrated equivalent.
