Job Description:

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Enterprise Data Governance Office (EDGO) as a Business Process Analyst. In this role, you will support the design and improvement of key data governance processes including regulatory compliance, metadata management, and data quality monitoring. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to drive lean, automated, and efficient process design while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the financial services industry while developing expertise in enterprise data governance, process design, and regulatory data practices.
What will you do?
Assist in documenting, analyzing, and optimizing business processes related to:
Regulatory data compliance (e.g., OSFI E-21, OSFI E-23)
Metadata lifecycle management
Data quality assessment and issue remediation workflows
Collaborate with data stewards, compliance officers, IT, and business units to gather requirements and map current/future-state processes
Support efforts to automate manual tasks through workflow tools and automation platforms
Contribute to development of process documentation, SOPs, and user guides
Participate in continuous improvement efforts using Lean process design
Monitor key data governance KPIs and recommend improvements based on data-driven insights
Research and evaluate processes based on data governance regulations, frameworks, and industry standards
What do you need to succeed?
Foundational understanding or interest in data governance principles and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, OSFI, HIPA, SOX)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; familiarity with SQL and process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
Experience with or willingness to learn Data Governance Collibra and Informatica Data Quality tools
Excellent communication skills: clear writing, effective presentations, and knowledge transfer
Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across teams in a matrix environment
Innovative mindset focused on efficiency, simplification, and continuous improvement
Adaptable, self-motivated, and takes ownership of assigned project deliverables, plans activities to ensure delivery by agreed upon due dates

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
