AR-Credit Control Specialist

Job Summary:

The Credit Specialist/Analyst is responsible for evaluating the financial strength and stability of commercial customers to assess credit risk.

Job responsibilities

• Assess the credit capacity of prospective and existing customers by researching financial trends, company history, and industry conditions.

• Maintain up-to-date credit files and provide timely financial risk assessments to the Business Credit Team.

• Offer strategic credit risk guidance to internal stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

• Analyze financial statements, D&B reports, credit agency insights, and customer account trends to recommend credit lines in line with company policy.

• Collaborate with the Collections Team to minimize financial exposure and resolve past due receivables.

• Work with the Commercial Team to assess financial viability of customers and optimize ROI opportunities.

• Drive efficiency and innovation in credit processes through creative problem-solving.

• Educational Background: BCom / MCom / MBA (Finance)

• Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Commercial credit, preferably in an SAP environment.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in SAP,. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.).. Experience using credit agency reports (D&B) and understanding bankruptcy procedures. Knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, liens, and UCC filings.

• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
