ROLE OVERVIEW:

Focuses on optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system. May collaborate on projects involving electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or process engineering, or operational excellence.  Design and implement process optimization and cost saving strategies. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborates on specialized and broad-based assignments and projects that may require collaboration with other functions.
  • May collaborate on projects involving electrical power and controls to develop new or improve existing manufacturing processes.
  • Process optimization trials, analysis and recommendations. 
  • Prepares monthly quality and production reports.
  • Assists with installation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Machine break analysis, troubleshooting and recommendations. 
  • Chemical trials, analysis and recommendations.   
  • Analyzes tooling failures and evaluates tool characteristics and requirements.
  • May coordinate and perform periodic operational diagnostics on  operations.
  • Provides technical support to improve equipment and process reliability.
  • May provide assistance and guidance to less experienced engineering colleagues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience 

  • Typically possesses an Engineering degree and 4-8 years of experience. 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Broad knowledge of industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, manufacturing processes, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Works effectively under general supervision and independently.
  • Strong Project Management knowledge.
  • Detail oriented with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in  relevant software (e.g. CAD).
