Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Golang Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Go programming and a solid understanding of both back-end and distributed systems. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business and technical requirements.

  • This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that cater to specific user needs or business requirements. The role works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to create functional, user-friendly, and reliable software solutions. The role conducts testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure that software applications are free of defects and meet high-quality standards.


Responsibilities
• Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of end-user applications software running on local, networked, and Internet- based platforms.
• Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
• Investigates and resolves technical issues reported by users or identified during testing and usage.
• Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quality assurance teams, to implement new features and functionalities in software applications.
• Allocates resources to complete programming projects, and designing detailed plans to ensure applications are functioning properly.
• Leads a project team of other software applications engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned applications portion or subsystem.
• Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software applications design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Represents the software applications engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
• Keeps up with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software development to stay current and improve skills.

  • Develop and maintain Golang applications: Design and implement back-end services using Go, focusing on clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Memory Management: Optimize applications by leveraging Go’s garbage collector, understanding its impact on performance and memory allocation.
  • Data Structures: Efficiently manage data through arrays, slices, structs, and interfaces.
  • Concurrency: Write concurrent applications using Go routines and channels to ensure performance and reliability at scale.
  • HTTP Server and Middleware: Build robust and scalable HTTP servers using native Go packages and frameworks. Develop and integrate middlewares for authentication, logging, and error handling.
  • Database Management: Implement database interactions using GORM, ensuring efficient querying and database schema management.
  • Package and Dependency Management: Utilize Go's package management and tooling such as Go mod for handling dependencies and Go cache for caching solutions.
  • Testing and Documentation: Write unit and integration tests using Go’s testing tools. Document the codebase using godoc and maintain an Open API for integrations.
  • Familiarity with Reflection, error groups, and advanced logging techniques.
  • Knowledge of Go’s internal functions like main and init for application lifecycle management.

gRPC and API Development:

  • Develop high-performance APIs using gRPC and gRPC gateway.
  • Implement gRPC interceptors for authentication, logging, and monitoring.

Frameworks:

  • Design APIs and microservices using Go web frameworks like Gin, Gorilla Mux, Beego, Echo etc.
  • Code generation using swagger framework

Database:

  • Relational: Mysql, Orcale tec.
  • No SQL - Mongo, Dynamo database and its queries

Version Control:

  • Git: Must have extensive knowledge.

AWS Services:

  • Integrate with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, S3, Dynamodb and IoT Core for secure and scalable infrastructure.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Design and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt, including writing and maintaining reusable modules.

Cryptography:

  • Implement security features using public and private key encryption, certificate management, and other cryptographic functions to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

Hands on expertise on:

  • Strong experience with Go (Golang) and its ecosystem.
  • Experience with web frameworks like Gin and Gorilla Mux.
  • Deep understanding of gRPC, gRPC gateway, and interceptors.
  • Proficiency with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Secret Manager, Parameter Store, S3, and IoT Core.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Familiarity with cryptography concepts, including certificate management, encryption, and secure communication protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Knowledge of Go tools such as godoc, go get/install, go test.



Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in applications engineering, programming, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
