Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer - MECM

Job Description Summary

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Active Directory, and Intune resource. Work would include daily administration, capacity and resiliency planning, Task Sequence Development and Customizations. Discovery, Design, and Architecture of roadmap MECM Infrastructure

Implementation of net new Global MECM infrastructure leveraging public cloud is a primary objective for this position, so experience is paramount. Migration from on-premises SCCM to Public Cloud MECM Infrastructure. Intune MDM Administration, device deployment, device patching, Active Directory group policy development are main responsibilities in this role.

Job Description

Essential MECM Duties:

• Experience in SCCM / MECM Migrations from On-Prem to Cloud Platforms
• Proficient in MECM Imaging Task Sequence Development, with high levels of customization, using DISM, and leveraging PowerShell for all conditional Logic.
• Leads research and develop on new technology, platforms, and tools to support End User Computing and overall end user Digital Experience (DEX).
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MCM/MECM/SCCM), with experience in co-management models.
• Overall design & deployment of Microsoft best practices from SCCM to Latest MECM Versions.
• Build and manage MECM deployments to collections across various complex private & public cloud networks and environments.
• Configure server certificate templates to enable PKI/HTTPS communication.
• Setup and configure Cloud Management Gateway (CMG from azure marketplace) using 3rd party certificates.
• Proficient in creation, maintenance, and migrations of Boundary Groups, deployments, collections, and other MECM related objects.
• Troubleshoot failed MECM deployments and health issues identifying root causes.
• Responsible for ensuring consistent enterprise-wide systems and security update delivery in accordance with established IT security standards, protocols, and policies.
• Must be able to Lead / Coach Level 1 & 2 technicians to perform MECM or Intune tasks.
• Provide Tier III support to global customers with in-depth knowledge of Task Sequences, Customization, PXE process, Software Distribution, and Desktop Client troubleshooting.
• Proficient with various software platforms and operating systems including but not limited to Microsoft Windows (Windows 11 and Server 2022), MECM, SCCM, WSUS, and BitLocker.
• Primary Site Server Post-build configurations of MECM application platform in MS Azure.
• Assessment and Analysis regarding Secondary MECM site configuration.
• MECM Management Point(s) Development & Deployment in Public Cloud.

Desired Skills:

• Experience in Managing Projects or co-leading technical projects under a PM.
• Technical Team Leadership Skills (Upskilling, Coaching,, Running Daily Meetings)
• Create technical documentation for new or existing services.
• Facilitate meetings and communication with project and leadership stakeholders.
• Demonstrate aptitude for providing customer service, influence, and impact while problem solving and building Customer & Partner relationships.

Intune Administration & Skills:

• Responsible for implementation and configuration of Profiles / policies.
• PowerShell scripts for creating policies and pushing them via Intune.
• Experience with Co-Managed Devices
• Experience with Windows 10/11 Autopilot via Intune
• BitLocker Encryption through Intune.
• Maintain an awareness of current developments in Digital Workplace and conduct research and development of new technologies and frameworks such as DEX.
• Provide advice, both reactively and proactively, to customers and colleagues.
• Intune Troubleshooting of MDM Devices
• Intune Reports & Endpoint analytics
• Configuration of Windows Autopilot, deployment of OS upgrades and applications along with MDM, MAM policies
• Application onboarding, packaging, provisioning & deployment via Intune platform.
• Good knowledge on application packaging and MSI technologies

Active Directory Group Policy Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policy related to MECM.
• Develop new Policies for compliance, security, branding, and endpoint standardization.
• Maintain / Modify policies per security guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Configure drive mappings for new and changed drive paths.
• Standardizing and Securing MECM managed Devices through GPO
• Testing and Validation of Group Policy Objects

Required Skills and Education

Minimum Experience, Education and Certification:

• 7 or more years’ experience with SCCM / MECM / Intune.
• 8-10 years’ Experience in Corporate IT Environment.
