With over 430 retail stores worldwide, our Retail Leadership Team is essential to our business. This team is responsible for the overall strategy and performance of retail stores, change championship to drive new processes and procedures, and actively driving the company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”
As Regional Director you are the leader accountable for all facets of the retail store business within North America. Within this role you will be responsible for leading a diverse team of District Managers and Area Managers and cascading Columbia’s mission through coaching, execution and accountability.
Recruit, manage, coach, and develop a high-performing, diverse team of leaders and staff. Ensures the overall talent plan of the region reflects high standards, coaching culture, succession planning, and talent development
Drive sales and profit plans to budget through successful leadership, organizational plans, customer service, and outstanding execution of all operations strategies, consistently across all stores
Perform focused, documented store visits to assigned stores in support of visual, operational, profitability, and customer experience expectations
Works cross-functionally to drive strategic initiatives focused on the field, maintain positive open lines of communication with internal and external partners and vendors to contribute to efficient operations of the organization
Develop and retain a diverse team by creating a positive environment that is supportive of employee training and development; acting as role model to ensure company standards and expectations are met
Inspire managers and teams to deliver results for assigned sales and productivity goals; understanding and managing the business by effectively using sales reports, assessing departmental results, and developing specific actions directly related to business development and growth, consistently across all stores
Act as a change champion to innovate and iterate processes and procedures for improved operational and sales excellence
Extensive travel at approximately 75% within the US and Canada
An excellent communicator; exhibiting negotiation to influence decision making of senior executives and major customers on matters of significance
A strong problem solver; directing resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced analytical thought and judgement
Strategic in long term (2-4 years) business planning; driving results within an organizational function or brand
Bachelor's or master’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience
10 years of Retail experience opening and leading branded, full-price stores
Experience managing high level individual contributors and subordinate managers/sr. managers
Ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgement
Frequently in a more active environment (i.e., requires ability to constantly move about) that can be physical or strenuous in nature (frequently adjusting/moving items weighing up to 40 lbs.), may frequently use specialized equipment, may have exposure to dust and noise
Occasionally requires the ability to work in place
Availability to work a flexible, often changing retail schedule to support needs of the business which may change seasonally and in response to business trends or forecasts
The ability to travel across the US and Canada @ ~ 75%
