About the Position:

Epic Specialty Staffing is looking for a Medical Scribe to support medical professionals by ensuring accurate and efficient documentation of Radiology reports, ultimately contributing to improved healthcare delivery and decrease turnaround time for Radiologists reports. The ideal candidate must possess excellent listening and typing skills, coupled with a profound understanding of medical terminology. This position follows a night shift schedule and operates under a remote work setup, with some days required on-site.

What You'll Do:​

  • Prioritize critical cases and stats in the Radiologists' work list to optimize workflow.

  • Ensure proper sequencing of cases and maintain a systematic approach to task prioritization.

  • Confirm the presence of all required images and documentation for patient encounters.

  • Communicate with the radiology tech departments to obtain missing images or documentation as necessary.

  • Verify the loading of prior images and reports, ensuring completeness of patient records.

  • Accurately transcribe findings from Radiologists to create final reports using established templates and macros.

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology to ensure precise documentation of radiology reports.

  • Facilitate communication between emergency room physicians and Radiologists for critical calls and pertinent findings.

  • Demonstrate assertiveness and professionalism in handling urgent and critical situations.

  • Enforce strict adherence to confidentiality protocols in accordance with the Health

  • Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.

  • Safeguard patient information and always ensure its secure handling.

  • Skillfully manage multiple responsibilities concurrently to ensure the timely creation of

  • Radiology reports, effective worklist management, and handling critical calls.

  • Maintain a high level of efficiency to support the overall productivity of the Radiology department.

What You Bring:

  • One year of healthcare exposure, whether it be through education or professional healthcare experience.

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Health Sciences) is preferred.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to understand and accurately transcribe medical information.

  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the English language as required for effective performance of job duties.
